The Viewsonic Viewbook 730 is not comparable to the budget tablets that are in the market. It is also different from other small lightweight tablets as it weighs half a kilogram and is bigger in size. Made of hard plastic body the The Viewsonic Viewbook 7 does not have an attractive appearance. The screen is glossy and may be helpful when contrast is required but when used outdoor there are some handicap. With a 7” display, the makers claim that it is possible for 2 people to watch a film. The keyboard is quite good to work on.
Features
The Viewsonic Viewbook 7 has a 1 GHz CPU comparable to what tablets of this class use. It uses a RAM of 512MB. The 7” display is with resolution of 800X 480 pixels. The display of resistive type but quite responsive. However there is no support system for multi touch operation. The multimedia is quite adequately done with quality of the image both relating to color and sharpness is quite ordinary. The music system works quite well. The Viewsonic Viewbook 7 has special feature that is recognition of handwriting even ifs some words are miss spelt.
Design
The Viewsonic Viewbook 7 has measurements of .46 X90 X 5.2 inches, giving it the appearance of a middle sized device and not suitable for carrying in your pocket. The plastic casing is not considered to be a great advantage. Using it has not helped in keeping the weight down. With the weight of 465 grams the The Viewsonic Viewbook 7 is 50 times more than tablets of this class. It is provided with 4knbs on the front side and they are for menu, search, home and back. But they are not backlit. Power and volume are also controlled by buttons. The speakers are in the front like the camera.
Storage and Battery
The Viewsonic Viewbook 7 comes with an internal storage facility going up to 8GB. This storage capacity can be enhanced by SD cards externally, going up to a maximum of 32GB. The tablet is provided with an internal, power source in the form of lithium ion battery which is rechargeable. The time for recharging takes an hour or so for full charge. The capacity is sufficient for normal day’s operation without having to be recharged. The tablet is provided with USB cable adapter. The necessary is also offered at an extra price.
Conclusion
It is supposed that a tablet for use of common use will be priced moderately especially in India where any 5 figure price attracts adverse comments. In that respect Viewsonic Viewbook 7 at INR 12500/- cannot be considered as affordable. As far as customer support is concerned as it is difficult to say what the makers are doing in the absence of regular information about the functioning/non functioning of Viewsonic Viewbook 7 and the problem faced in using it. But you can rest assured that no manufacturer will let customer suffer for want of adequate support from them when problems arise while using their manufactured devices. You have to import from ebay global to buy this tablet. It is not available right now in India. You can see other tablets from our tablets section.
